My Plustek 7200i scanner is not recognized by the plustek software. Windows does know a scanner device is plugged in, but neither plustek nor silverfast recognize it.
Any ideas?

which image editing program(s) are you using ?
you may have to create an internal link
"add scanner"

Also, have you 'virtually' connnected the scanner to Windows? If you don't have auto-connect turned on, there are two ways this could have been done:
A. When the device was plugged in the first time, it asked you if you wanted to connect it to Windows.
B. You selected the Scanner from the menu bar via Devices -> USB -> *SCANNER*
You can always try the latter to see if that helps.
Finally, if neither of us helped, we will need the information you forgot to give us, namely your build # and OS X Version. See this thread for the full list: http://forums.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=16741

Eru and Hugh
I have tried vuescan, the scan software that comes with plustek, and silverfast.
Windows recognizes the scanner as connected, and it shows connected in the devices/usb/scanner. Still, none of the scanner software can tell the scanner is connected and available.
I'll look for the "internal link" option. Where do I find that?
If that doesn't work I'll report the build #per the instructions below.

Vuescan, silverfast, and plustek quickscan all refuse to believe a scanner is connected.
The vuescan output is the most verbose:
"
No scanner was found attached to your computer. If you have one, close this tip window, exit VueScan, turn on the scanner and run VueScan again. See the VueScan Release Notes for more information.
Press 'Close' to start using VueScan."

Parallels shows a checkbox beside the Devices/USB/Film Scanner item if and only if the scanner is connected. Yet no scanner software on the PC knows about this.
Do you think parallels can buy one of these things and fix it?

plustek 3600 OpticBook Scanner software does not recognize scanner even though windows does know its connected and it is a scanner.
I just did a straight install; XP seems like it did recognize the scanner, as it did detect the scanner, and I was able it install the driver+software for the scanner. However, both Windows (under Control Panel->Scanners and Cameras) and the Plustek scanner software could not communicate with the scanner. It is listed in the list under Scanners and Cameras, but you cannot view any details; it says it is unable to communicate with the scanner.
Is there still a known problem with Parallels and Plustek scanners?
