Ok so I needed to burn a couple of Protected WMA files purchased from XP based music stores (Napster, Rhapsody et al)... By burning them under XP it converts them to a cd that can then be imported into iTunes for play back under quicktime.
I found the following to work well.
Using Nero burn a .NRG image of the files in question thus creating a disc of CDA files.
By mounting this NRG image in a virtual drive provided my MagicDisc for XP I was then able to convert this file to a bin/cue image using an option within MagicDisc (see link) converting an audio CD to an ISO is not supported.

Now by copying the bin/cue file to a shared folder I can mount this BIN/CUE image in Toast 7.
This can then be burned to CD or saved as a DMG to mount as an audio CD in OSX.
Now I am aware that mounting the .NRG will allow me to convert using iTunes on the windows side as iTunes will see this as an Audio CD, however this means importing all the tracks into a format for iTunes, and then exporting each track individually, the way I suggest allows you to have a burnable image much faster on the OSX side.
Using this process will also work for DATA and other discs as well, long winded I know but for those who need XP specific burnable discs it may help.
Comments, Refinement and questions welcome
