Hi , first of all: thanks for that fantastic software. It opens a lot of new possibilities !!
I just installed an WindowsXP-VM and discovered some problems:
- some devices are not supported yet (sound/usb) - maybe just an beta-issue?
- dvd's are not recognized from the guest-os. cd's are recognized but not dvd's
- i can't switch to fullscreen on my imac 20"
- "Help/Report a problem" completely crashed my mac (reboot)
regards

Hi.
Sound, usb and fullscreen mode support will be in release version, it is just a limitation of beta.
Crash "Help/Report a problem" is now being fixed by our engineers.

Does it currently provide support for Dual Cores?

Yes, it does. Current version of Parallels Workstation supports up to 32 CPU for the Primary OS.

I run a MacBook Pro with an external monitor. In a perfect world, I'd be able to run Parallels in fullscreen mode on my MBP's integrated display while MacOS X is displayed on the external display. Would this mode of operation be supported in the release version?
Thanks for a fantastic product!

Yes, it does. Current version of Parallels Workstation supports up to 32 CPU for the Primary OS.
I was more concerned about the Guest OS having access to both cores?

With current version of Parallels Workstation you will be able to assign one cpu per VM, but will not be able to let one VM use multiple cpu's - support for guest smp virtualization is in scope for next versions of our virtualization engine.

Thanks for the quick reply. Keep up the good work. Being first to market has its rewards, at least PR wise.

Have tried to boot from DVD, selected "Use real CD/DVD-ROM" and when starting up always tells me "Unable to open device/file...". There is no list to select from. What name is expected for the physical builtin DVD drive. I am using Mac OS X 10.4.6.
Thanks!

May be that is the same kind of problem like in http://forum.parallels.com/thread73.html ?
