Good Afternoon All,
Have to say that so far I am very impressed with the Beta.

XP installed flawlessly and very quickly indeed. Win 98 took some time, but that is a known issue, so that's ok.

I'm now wishing to install Office 2000 on 98/XP and I'm having a little problem. I cannot seem to get Parallel's to show either a real CD or a connected image under 98 or XP.

The images were created using Disk Utility and I renamed the extension from .dmg to .iso. This worked perfectly for the XP SP2 and Win98SE Install, as that's how I got the OS into the Guest PC, however, it simply refuses to "see" my Office images, which were created in exactly the same way.

I've mounted the images and used the get info command on them, and they report they are indeed ISO images, so I can't see why it's not working.

Am I doing something fundamentally stupid here?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I am having problems installing Windows 98 SE. Parallels Workstation recognizes my CD drive, but when I boot the VM it says there is no bootable drives. The Win98 SE is a full install disk and should be bootable from all I can tell on the 'net. Is there something I need to know? You mentioned something about a "known issue."

Known issue is simply that the install of Win 98 takes a lot longer than the XP install does.
