No option to enable directx!

I've read about how microsoft games and stuff can be run on parallels, but the option to 'enable directx' must be checked. however, i dont seem to have it on my 'edit VM' menu!

That's the problem. You don't have the right version.

Yes, you need to download the latest version build 4128 - which is version 3.0. Build 3212 is V2.5 - not logical but there it is.

If you want to use this only for games, you might want to consider downloading and requesting a trial key before buying it. Actually if you want to run a game, you should consider using bootcamp alone.

However, if it is something other then a game, do the trial.
