I would like to edit the configuration whilst the VM is running - not for the current instance but for the next and subsequent instances. Eg. I configured my WinXP VM to autostart when opening Parallels. Now I can' t turn this feature off because every time I open parallels and this VM, it starts up before I can change the configuration!

I have pretty much the same problem. It gets you stuck in a loop, which is very difficult to return from.

You'll have to edit the '.pvs' configuration file to change the autostart mode, unfortunately:( . Hopefully Parallels will have a menu item or key combination to bypass the autostart action when starting the VM in the final version.

Open the Finder, then you'll need to go to [username]=>Library=>Parallels=>winxp=>winxp.pvs. Select and right-click, select "Open With", select "Other>" and select "TextEdit.app" from the list. In TextEdit.app" change the line "Start auto = 1" to "Start auto = 0". This should turn off the VM autostart action.

Hope this helps:)

RCF,
Thanks for the tip, although it appears my .pvs is already set to Start auto = 0. I tried changing it to 1 but it did not make a difference.
