I am curious about purchasing Parallels and I am wondering if there are any performance issues with running a Windows 7 VM (from my Mac bootcamp) and then using the Windows Remote Desktop Connection into another machine.

Is there anyone who can help me understand if there is any lag or jittery-ness when doing this?

    The HOST machine is a mid-2012 Macbook Pro w/ Retina (2.3 Quad-Core i7 with 8GB RAM).

    Thanks,

I'm not entirely clear: are you asking about using RDP to access the Windows 7 VM or using the Windows 7 VM to run an RDP client to another Windows computer? If the latter, why not just run a native RDP client on the Mac?

If the former, I can't speak for Windows 7, but we have a client who runs a Windows XP WM on PD10 that users access via RDP. If anything the VM is more responsive than the host OS. Now if only Yosemite hadn't broken SMB file sharing...

One day I'll look into why that machine is so slow but for now we have much bigger fish to fry at that site.
