Last week I upgraded OS X to Yosemite, my VM is Windows 7. I was warned that my Parallels would need to be upgraded to fit Yosemite.
Before I upgraded Parallels to the latest, Windows 7 started operating very, very slowly. It would take up to 10 seconds to type this "word".
Yesterday I downloaded and I believe I installed the newest version of Parallels Desktop completely. Windows 7 was still extremely slow. I found a PUP program installed in Windows and removed it with AdwCleaner. Windows 7 was still just as slow. I used the Microsoft security scanner software to scan for 4 hours and it found no viruses. But Windows is still is extremely slow.
Is there something I needed to do after PD was upgraded to integrate it with Windows?

Thank you very much Mervin. I followed the steps in item 2 of your response. I was very tense following those directions, treading in unknown territory, but it worked like a miracle! It took some time for me to catch up all the work that was backed up. Now I have time to say how much I appreciate your help.
The Windows Tech support guy in India could not do that. Nobody at Apple would understand what happened.
    So thank you very much.

I had this issue too on my mid 2011 iMac where I had to move the mouse to see text I typed in the VM. Everything was working fine Yosemite and Parallels 10 until I shutdown the iMac yesterday and ran Parallels today. Doing item 2 corrected the issue.
