    Has anyone managed to get networking working in Openstep in Parallels 7?

    I have managed the following:
    1) Install of Openstep 4.2;
    2) Installation of the NE2K driver;
    3) Force Parallels to boot the Openstep VM with "devices.net.force_adapter_type=rtl";
    4) Configure Openstep's networking, with Parallels networking in Bridged mode.

    I can ping my router, and ping google. However, when I try to visit a website, page loading slows to a crawl and eventually stops. I can't ping my router and eventually I get a message which says the VM isn't connected to the host's ethernet port.

    I'm unsure that this helps, but you can try additional flags (all three together) "devices.apic.disable=1" and "devices.acpi=0". Afair it is possible to specify them separating with ";":

    devices.apic.disable=1;devices.acpi=0;devices.net.force_adapter_type=rtl

    No such luck.

    On boot I'm seeing the message "No response from network configuration server." I think there's a misconfiguration in my Openstep install, but I don't know enough to know what it is.

    Solved it. I needed the NE2K driver and "devices.net. force_adapter_type=rtl" as a boot flag.
