I'm using an install of 12.10 to do some dev work across a few machines; my MBA, my old laptop running a dedicated 12.10 install and a version running though Parallels 8 on the MBA.

In order to have access to my files on all three machines, I store them on Dropbox which works well for OSX and the old laptop. Rather than have an install of Dropbox on the Parallels install of 12.10 (duplicating my files on the same machine) I have shared the specific folders I use as "Custom Folders...".

This is fine for reading however when I save a file in Ubuntu to these folders - or copy them across from the Ubuntu desktop to the shared folder - the files become corrupted; just a series of zeroes when opened in either Ubuntu or OSX.

Clearly there are other ways I could sync the files across the machines (and I suppose installing DB on the Ubuntu VM would be the next best) but I would still like to know why I can't save to the shared folders.

    Any ideas?
