    Hi!

I just received an email from a friend of mine that there is a problem. OS was upgraded to Mavericks, there was no notification about incompatibility. He didn't have to use PD7 till yesterday. I just want to get an answer what to do now, because there are files and programs (invoicing software) that cannot be lost. I couldn't find a thread which could be relevant to the situation I'm standing in front of. My questions are:

    1. Is it ok to upgrade PD7 to PD9 and run everything after upgrade like there was no problem?
    2. Is there a possibility to backup data files used by PD7, install clean Mountain Lion, install PD7, swap data files and extract what is needed?

My friend is going to buy newest version, but for now he needs to save some stuff from PD7. Those files CAN NOT BE LOST.

    HALP!
    Dan :)

    Hi Dan,

If you intend to upgrade to the upcoming Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9), please note that Parallels Desktop for Mac version 7 and earlier will not support OS X Mavericks (10.9). You will not be able to launch your Windows Virtual Machine or directly use your files through Parallels Desktop for Mac version 7 and earlier.

To continue using Parallels Desktop for Mac in OS X Mavericks you should upgrade to Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac:

Also, I would suggest you to back up the Virtual Machine so that you can use the same Windows on Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac. More information is available in the article below:

    Thanks,
    Looran
