I am trying to migrate from a Windows laptop to a MAC running on parallel. In our company, we use a domain controller running on Windows Server 2008 R2 for DNS/DHCP/Active Directory services. From previous experience with the migration, the DNS service keeps the old mapping record (IP->computer name) and does not recognize the new computer. Hence, the name of the new computer does not get map correctly to the IP address assigned. I am wondering what I can do during or after the migration to resolve the issue.
Hi nworks, Please follow the steps as suggested below : - Change the Computer name ( http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/change-your-computer-name-in-windows-vista/ ) - (Re)install Parallels Tools as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/4841 - Go to Configure of VM ( http://kb.parallels.com/117287 ) -> Hardware -> Network -> Change the Type to "Bridged(default)". Thanks, Abdul
