missing files

My VM corrupted, so in order to keep my docs safe, I created a new VM then used Parallels Explorer to drag and drop the "My Documents" folder from one VM to the other. A status bar appeared showing that it was transferring the files. After it finished, the files were missing. I cannot find them on either VM. When searching for them, I can see them in the Temporary Items folder, but the file extension is .lnk and they will not open. Can someone help me find my files?!

Also try to double click hdd file it will mount hdd to desktop and you can move your files
