    Hi all,

I'm wondering if it's possible to transfer a Windows XP machine to a Mac with Parallels using only the PC's Hard disk in an External Caddy? I don't have the PC hardware any more, only the Drive.

I've tried the Paralells Wizard, but it won't find the 'Windows OS' automatically, and it won't accept the Hard Drive as an 'Image File', nor does the UBS Drive work either. The External Hard Disk is perfectly viewable on the MAC... But Parallels won't accept it.

Is this something Parallels can't do?

    Thanks....

    Hi MoonFluff,

Currently, using only a PC's Hard disk to create a VM is not a supported feature with Parallels Desktop for Mac.

I would suggest you to connect the PC's Hard disk to a tower and migrate the Windows XP using Parallels Desktop for Mac. Migration steps available @ http://kb.parallels.com/115007

    Thanks,
    Looran
