Hello, First thanks in advance, I am now running Windows 8.1 via Parallels it is working fine on my Mac os 10.8.6 It has been years since I have been using Windows at all. I need to open a file from my Mac Desktop in Windows how do I do that? Also for the life of me I cannot remember how to install a program using Windows. Thanks so much. Troy
Hi Troy, Please try re-installing Parallels Tools following the article mentioned below: http://kb.parallels.com/4841 Once Parallels Tools have been installed, follow the steps below to see if you have enabled the sharing feature: 1. Go to Virtual Machine Configuration http://kb.parallels.com/117287 2. Choose Options Tab => Sharing 3. Sharing with Mac Hi, thanks so much, I am pretty green here as I have already experienced a problem. I need to have access to my files on mac from Windows. I noticed when I applied the sharing choices my entire desktop copied over to windows as I moved the Icons from windows to the trash bin it simultaneously deleted the desktop files from my mac desktop. I am only going to be using Parallels/slash windows on occasions to use windows specific files. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated regarding my set up. I don't want to be duplicating to many files as hard drive space is an Issue. THANKS
