I just downloaded a 'free trial' version of Parallels 9 on my MacBook. I do not have any Windows product... 7 or 8 etc. Do I need to purchase a copy of Windows 7 or 8? Any other way to do so? As you can tell, I'm not very savvy with this product. I appreciate any help!

Yes, you need a copy of windows (whatever version) to run in Parallels. What parallels provides is a virtual machine to run windows.

    Hello KennyV,

If you purchase Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, please try to get a CD/DVD or an .iso image file instead of getting the .exe file and then follow the steps as suggested at: http://kb.parallels.com/4729 to install Windows Virtual Machine.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.
