    Unhappy missing mysql.sock

    Hi

    I did a stupid thing, I deleted mysql.sock in /tmp.
After that, mysql wont startup, i get the errormessage:

Unable to connect to database: MySQL connection failed: Can't connect to local MySQLs erver trough socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2).

how can i recreate the mysql.sock file ?
I have 150 clients on the server, so i really need a quick solution to the problem!!

    Thanks in advance.

    Default

Stop and start mysql service back. Mysql server will recreate socket file during startup

Default Well, it was more to it than that....

I had the wrong Permissions and user/group for the /tmp folder.

    I did the following:

    shell>chown mysql:mysql /tmp
    shell>chmod 775 /tmp

That solved the problem (MySQL didn't have right permission).
