I am a relative newbie to Linux but I have installed other applications before. I downloaded and installed a deb version of parallels and can see that it is installed by looking in the package manager. But I can not for the life of me find a place to launch the app. Can someone please provide some help?

    Thanks

    Fred,

I would recommend you to use Parallels Desktop 4 for Linux - as our latest product for Linux host.
    http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/pd4wl/

It comes with the single self-installing *.run package - to install it you need
    1) Download it
    2) Run Terminal and add it execution permissions (chmod a+x *.run)
    3) Run it as root (sudo ./*.run)

After the installation, you can run Parallels Desktop by using 'parallels-desktop' command

    Regards,
    Max
