Hi All, I am in the midst of installing a new Windows 7 VM on my MBP. Currently, all of my Windows applications and data are on an existing Vista VM. What is the best way for me to transfer these apps and data files from the Vista VM to the new Windows 7 VM? Can I use the Parallels Transporter to do this? Thanks, Donovan.
Did you ever get an answer to this? I now have two VMS - Vista and 7 - and cannot figure out how to move stuff from Vista to 7. I cannot believe that neither Microsoft nor Parallels provide any info on how to upgrade within parallels.
You can copy your documents by adding the virtual hard disk of the other VM to the VM. You'll need to reinstall your apps. An easier solution might be to duplicate the Vista VM, then update that to Windows 7 like you would a normal PC so you don't need to reinstall your apps or copy your documents. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-vista-to-windows-7
