I downloaded the x86_64 installation DVD of Fedora Core 12. When I try to install it as a guest, I get this error message after selecting the keyboard type: I don't understand why Fedora can't find my IDE hard drive. I tried setting it to SCSI and got the same message.
Please, create problem report when you'll see that message next time (via Help->Report a problem) and write its number here.
I've checked on PD5 and FC12 x86_64 installed without any problems. I used custom install from FC12 DVD.
I just sent report 917528. This is a cool reporting feature. I like how I can send a screenshot of the guest. I'm having this problem with PD version 4.0.3846. Interestingly, Fedora Linux 11 works just fine.
Looks like there was a problem in PD4, you can try to use kernel parameter pci=noacpi at boot. This may help. And better to upgrade to PD5 PS: Same issue for Ubuntu 9.10 x86_64 and looks like for all modern kernels.
