I'm new to Parallels: I'm using Parallels 5 for Mac, with a VM of my Boot Camp Windows 7 partition. So far, so good. When I connect USB hard drives, I always choose to associate them with Mac OS; Windows sees them ok, and assigns them drive letters. However, the drive letters don't persist, presumably because I associated them with Mac OS, and I do remove and re-add them from time to time.

The problem is that some of my Windows applications have hard-coded backup locations, say, "W:\file backups\Quicken." Since the Windows drive letters don't persist when I remove and re-add drives, this breaks the backup location for those applications.

Should I re-add all my drives to be associated with the Windows partition? What effect with that have in Mac OS? I need the drives for both OS's.

    Thanks,
    Nick
