Build 1884 and Vista is now possible! Now that parallels supports Windows Vista in this new beta, I am having a problem installing it. I get a BSOD with "*** STOP: 0x000001000B, 0x50434146, 0xFFD01050, 0x00000000) This is with Vista RC1 32bit. |

Parallels and Vista Beta RC1 A web search reveals that the error message being generated is related to ACPI support. The same message is being posted on the QEMU forums. Seems that the error started with RC1 - Beta 2 installed OK under QEMU I also am trying to install RC1 and getting the same error. Looks like Parallels was premature. I bet they'll still using Beta 2 for testing... |

Yes, I just found a posting on the Qemu forums showing an almost identical error. Such a shame as I was looking forward to seeing how it performed compared to the native install I have on another partition. I have sent a bug report on this to Parallels, but I have a feeling they were aware of this problem. |

Yes, you must install the Parallels Tools step by step, because the prltools.exe doesnt work in Vista. Mount the Parallels Tools and go to system control and update the driver (Video, Sound, Mouse and Network) and go to the folder on your CD-ROM. Thatīs it. Wonni |

1) Open the Vista Guest PC 2) From the CD icon in the bottom of the Guest PC window select the "Connect Image " option, then navigate to /Library/Parallels/Tools/ and select the vmtools.iso file and click OK. This will "mount" the Parallels Tools disk 3) Click on the Windows icon in the start bar (What used to the be Start option in XP) On the right side of the list you'll see "Computer" Right click on this and select "Properties". This will take you to the System screen 4) Select the "Device Manager" option from the list of tasks. 5) To update the mouse driver, expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" item and double-click on the item within there, you'll see the Properties dialog for the Mouse, click on the Driver tab, then select "Update Driver". From the Search for driver window select the "Browse my computer for driver software" option, then navigate to the CD drive and select the Drivers folder on the CD and continue. 6) Repeat the above steps for the other drivers. Reboot the computer and you should have all the drivers installed correctly. |

Thanks Re Vista now working Quote:
The mouse sync was the last bit for me. I have now installed fully working Vista Beta 2 with network connection working through my Airport connection. Using Macbook pro 17". Latetest Parallels update. At first could not get network to work but I went through Device Manger updating eveything that would update then rebooted Vista. GA |
