Parallels unexplainable shut-down
I think before Parallels spends any more time adding support for iSight and trivial new features they should work on product stability.

3150 RC2 still unexplainably shuts down. No warning. No Nothing. I was busy working away when all of a sudden Parallels shutdown. I rebooted my VM yesterday... there's no reason why it shouldn't be able to run for more then 24 hours at a time.

You would think one of the requirements for reaching RC was that the product can run for days at a time without issue. APPARENTLY NOT. WTF??? What kind of stress testing is taking place?

I can't wait to see how many people want their money back once this thing hits the market.

QA... what QA?

Bootcamp driver install exe is bombing with a fatal error.
Any tips on why this exe would be bombing with a fatal error half-way through the driver installations?? It crashes and backs out whatever drivers it did install..

I did all this, after I start to install this file, it starts copying files and then within a minute, it gives errors message that it cannot find the file in C: documents and settings\applicationdata\local\is_52 and everytime it is changing temp location. So I don't know what to do. I even tried to burn a macintosh drivers cd and then it is doing the same thing.

Hope I don't need to have boot camp installed to try this? I am not running Boot camp, just parallels.

No External iSight
Well I was very happy to see iSight support has been added to release 3150. Then my joy turned to sadness. This appears to only work with the new iMac and Macbook that have the built in iSight. Those of us with Mac Mini's and Mac Pro's are still out of luck with our firewire iSights. It seems unless you want to spend a WHOLE lotta money on a new Apple display with built in iSight you are out of luck. We can only hope that at some point Parallels will add the firewire support so we can use our cams.

I believe the problem here is that Parallels still does not work with firewire...

It works. Installed Bootcamp drivers and I am happily using MSN. Yeah!! Refresh rate a bit slow compare to aMSN though. Not sure.

For those of you with a working BootCamp and Parallels could you look at your hardware profile and see if there is only one profile or more listed? I am trying to fix my bootcamp partition so I can boot into it, but it keeps on giving me BSOD.

BSOD error when installing Parallel tools update +
Once I booted from the Boot Camp partition, I got through login and to the dialog asking whether to update the drivers to correspond with the version of Parallels. I clicked Yes or OK or whatever the button is. Very shortly thereafter I got a BSOD which was wiped by an immediate parallele reboot that clears it so fast that I could not read or note anything from it. I tried again. Same result. Any suggestions?

FYI in case it's relevant, immediately prior to this I had teh following experience:

After installing RC2 (3150), when I tried to open the Boot Camp VM I got the "More than one windows partition..." message reported by a few others. This installation is completely standard and worked fine with RC1. I tried a variety of workarounds and finally got it to start by removing my USB2 drive that contains two FAT32 partitions. (I haven't used this with Parallels in the past, but it was attached to the system.) This may be fixable with the custom config file edits, although that process is a bit cryptic to be needed for a simple installation...

This is working great and I love the changes to Coherence, but there is one problem with it. When I set Coherence to use multiple displays, I get an error message when I try to go into Coherence mode, saying that the windows environment can't support the screen resolution. I increased the VRAM for the virtual machine to 32 MB but it didn't make any difference. It works fine if I don't let it span multiple displays, but that has the weird effect, of course, of making windows invisible if moved onto the second display.

I have a MacBook and am using the built-in 1280x800 display and an external 1680x1050 display.

Hi Greg,
You should go to Finder, folder Documents->Parallels->Your VM Name and double click on PVS file. This will load your VM into PD and add it to VM catalog.

Garmin GPSmap 60CS Now Works!
Thanks, Parallel Team! I installed the 3150 Mac build and now my Garmin GPSmap 60CS not only is recognized by the virtual machine, but is also found by Map Source!

I was a happy camper before, but now I'm a happy trekker also!

Is there anyone here who can answer a question for those who are "not" using bootcamp?? I've never had an issue with RC1, other than a memory leak.

After installing RC2 is XP will not complete boot. I get to the point of bringing up the network and it hangs.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
