    When attempting to allow connections from iPhone, I can't get the OK button to yield results. I get two messages:
    1. An error occurred when starting the iPhone service. Try and restart your mac…"
    2. The user session was established incorrectly. Try to establish a new session…"

    I have restarted, uninstalled and reinstalled Parallels, but this doesn't seem to work.

    Build 5.0 9344
    Mac OS X 10.6.2 on a MacBook Air

    Tried the steps in this kb article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/8189

    This correctly created the symbolic link, but the error remains. (even after system restart, Parallels restart)
    *The Parallels iPhone Proxy Service app has a "forbidden" icon ghost-stamped onto the standard generic application icon…

    Parallels Support has had this in their queue for a week or so now…any ideas?

    Same Issue Here...

    I have parallels 5.0 latest build, all VM files are located in users/shared/parallels so that each account on my mac can use the WINDOWS VM's to do any tasks that they cannot get done on the mac.

    and again….

    On a Mac Book Pro running Mac OS X 10.6.2. Come on, Parallels.

    Support got back to me yesterday….will get an answer back to me inside of two weeks? Let's hope being a reseller actually counts for something.

    Add me to the list. I just bought Parallels the other day & imported my VMWare machine. It works OK, but I can't get iPhone service to work. I get the same:

    1. An error occurred when starting the iPhone service. Try and restart your mac…"
    2. The user session was established incorrectly. Try to establish a new session…"

    add me to...

    i tried many things that the support crew told me to do, but still with no progress? is the problem solved for anyone?

    i installed previous version 9220 and there everything works from the first time, but downgrading is not the ideal solution dough.

    regards Geert

    This worked:
    Could you please do the following:

    1) Go to /Library/Parallels/
    2) Right-click on "Parallels Service.app" -> Show Package Contents
    3) Go to /Contents/PlugIns/
    4) Right-click on "Parallels Network Start.app" -> Show Package Contents
    5) Go to /Contents/MacOS/
    6) Copy "prl_iphone_proxy" file.
    7) Go to /Library/Parallels/
    8) Right-click on "Parallels Service.app" -> Show Package Contents
    9) Go to /Contents/PlugIns/
    10)Right-click on "Parallels iPhone Proxy.app" -> Show Package Contents
    11)Go to /Contents/MacOS/

    Tehere's a typo in the Paralells KB. They have an extra \ in the code they want you to run. :parallels Network \ Start.app

    After deleting the following file on my Mac : /Library/Parallels/Parallels\ Service.app/Contents/PlugIns/Parallels\ iPhone\ Proxy.app/Contents/MacOS/prl_iphone_proxy

    I re-ran the command without the \:

    sudo ln -s "/Library/Parallels/Parallels Service.app/Contents/PlugIns/Parallels Network Start.app/Contents/MacOS/prl_iphone_proxy" "/Library/Parallels/Parallels Service.app/Contents/PlugIns/Parallels iPhone Proxy.app/Contents/MacOS/"
