Install issues with XP I apologize profusely is this is covered already or elsewhere but I'm on my 3rd attempt at installing XP Pro (SP2) and never getting past the 23 minute mark. I get everything entered and going just fine but when it gets to the point of completing the installation and there are about 23 minutes remaining the install progress stops and after 10 minutes or so I get the proverbial spinning beach ball and my system is rendered useless (defined as non-responsive and unable to even get to a force quit). I end up having to power the machine down and start afresf. This is a brand-new Macbook, 2.0GhZ processor, 60 GB HD, 512 MB of RAM. Any thoughts here? |

Hi, I had exactly the same issue on a Mac Mini with 512 Mb of RAM. I re-tried the installation a number of times with various suggestions offered via the forum, but with no luck. I upgraded the Mini from 512 Mb to 2 Gb, and presto - all install issues gone. Cheers Rod |
