Change Windows Installation in same VM
I wonder if anyone can help - hopefully this is a simple query.

I need to uninstall WinXPPro from a VM and install normal WinXP instead for license reasons. The reason I don't want to just create a new VM is that I have some trial software installed on the original VM that I want to keep using until it runs out.

Is there a way to uninstall WinXPPro and reinstall WinXP inside the same VM without losing V data/programs etc?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Simple answer, no.

When you un-install Windows XP it will dump your programs.

Oh. Darn! Thanks anyway - at least I can stop trying to find a solution now as there isn't one :)

If you have the trial installer or the likes on your computers still, when you create the new install, just add your old drive as drive 2 via the properties, you should then be able to copy it over to your new install.

Cheers!
