So far, so good. I've got a 2x 2.66 GHz Mac Pro with 4GB of RAM and this build is working for me with 2 active VMs - one Ubuntu Linux and one Windows XP SP2. I DID erase my .pvs files for both VMs and recreated them after reading this thread just to avoid any issues, however. |

Build working for me on iMac24 with core 2 duos The new build is working for me on a new iMac 24" with the core 2 Duo's. I am installing Fedora right now. Before the update I was getting a kernel panic the moment I started the VM. This build seems to be working fine so far. Thanks for the access to the prerelease build. Is there are ETA on the full build being released? And will "Check for updates" update to it if I am running this internal build? Thanks, --Mike |

this problem was already investigated once, you can try to install this client even without Parallels - it will crash. it seems to be a kinda problem in Cisco's VPN. Regards, Max. |

Works great! Installed 1908, removed my nvram boot-args, rebooted, slept my machine, and started Parallels - everything's great. Even got VT-X working this time. It's nice to be able to use all 5GB RAM. My coworkers are all jealous. :) |

Finally - works for me! I have a Mac Pro 2.66 with 4GB of RAM. The 1st build I was ever able to get running was the 1896.2?) build, and I just tried this new 1908 build. I reverted back to all my original RAM using the last build, rebooted, installed this new 1908 build, rebooted, and launched Parallels. I confirmed that all my 4GB was available. I set Parallels to use 1500, as my VM is only using 700. I slept the machine, woke it back up, and launched my VM. The VM is still running fine as I type this in Safari... I ran MS money and IE in the VM, and I also read and wrote to a USB Flash Key. I tested networking as well, with no issues. I will leave the VM running for a while and test it further to see if I can get it to act funny or Kernel Panic. But so far, so good. Parallels, I think you may have fixed the PAE problem! I am delighted by this as with my x1900 ATI card and 23" Apple Cinema Display, I -can't- run Boot Camp. |

I haven't been able to get it to KP, but after I installed VM Tools I couldn't relaunch the VM without a crash. I didn't get anywhere... it was an instant crash as soon as I hit the "play" button. (Not a KP, just a Parallels crash that prompted me to send an email to Parallels). I quit and re-ran Parallels and all was fine again. It is still running ok. This is coming from a person who could - never- get Parallels to work.. on two different Mac Pros with 4GB. |

I upgraded to 1908 and am not experiencing any of the problems others are having. I simply disabled VT-x in the VM's properties. I'm on a Mac Pro 2.66GHz x 4 with 4GB RAM. |

I didn't even have to disable VT-x and it all works well enough. Great in XP, so-so in Vista. |

Something I noticed. Let me re-explain my issue first: Parallels locks up my system, and I have to force reboot. This has happened since the first Mac Pro beta, and it happens even now with the newest 1908 version. Now, what I've noticed is that when I uninstall Parallels I'll use spotlight to find all remaining files that Parallels left behind, and I'll delete them, but I think there's a corrupt file or something that's left behind. I can't find it when I search for visible or invisible files with using the word Parallels, but I think SOMETHING is left behind because when I install the newer version of Parallels, it lists ALL of the old VMs I installed previously that DO NOT exist on my computer anymore. When I select them, it tells me it can't find it, but how would the new version know these existed at all if something wasn't left behind on my computer? Just something I noticed. Maybe one of the older betas left behind a corrupt file that needs to be taken off of the system and is causing some of us these lock ups? |

I'd love to give 1908 a whirl. As it is now, with only 2G, my workflow isn't working. I really need more memory. Where do I find it. Thanks. |
