I had a bunch of windows open, including Parallels. I wanted to focus on a Mail message, so I clicked Mail > Hide Others to make everything else go away. Now Parallels refuses to come back. It still shows up in Activity Monitor, but nothing happens when I click the icon in my Dock. CMD-Tab also does nothing. I'd rather not Force Quit, as I'm worried about losing my work in XP. Is there anything else I can do? Running Build 1966 on a 1.83 GHz MBP with 2GB RAM. thanks, Greg
same problem I'm having the exact same problem. Maybe it's the 3rd time it happened to me. Very frustrating, because I know Parallels is running in the background, as is my unsaved document. Coincidentally (or maybe not) I too was switching to read an email message in the MacOS (Thunderbird) I've tried all sorts of things, like running another Parallels instance, quitting all other apps, logging out, etc... but no luck with any of it.
This happened to me before too in 3094. What I did was CMD-Q (regular quit.) This causes it to either prompt you if you have it set that way, or automatically suspend (Mine was set to suspend automatically on CMD-Q.) Then I just resumed the VM and all has been fine since. This only happened to me when I was messing with Coherence settings. I've found now that I've got it all setup the way I want, without making changes it seems pretty stable.
