Older USB to Serial Adapter questions
I did a search and found a bunch of USB to Serial posts but none have the same issue I am having.

I am a newbie MAC user, I bought my first MAC last month (MBP 15) it replaces an older Dell Laptop. I used Transporter and created a HDD image of my dell XP Pro) and ported it to my MAC. I am running Parallels build 3188. I need the XP image for my automotive ALDL datalogging software. the cable I have is an older USB to Serial, when I plug it in with OS X running it does nto seem to find it. with autoconnect on and Parallels VM running XP, XP finds it and connects is ( I have it set as COM1). once I try launching my Datalogger after a few seconds I get an XP BSOD, (VM is Set to auto off apparently so I could not read the message) so I will try again, but how do I turn auto on/off feature off?

Now my main question is with using a USB to serial Adapter in XP should it work okay or will I have issues? baud rate is 8196 (yeah I know non-standard) but worked well on my old Dell.

what other options do I have? I have VISTA on a bootcamp partition and it does nto work when booted that way. I would really like to go through the VM if I can

USB HC emulation problems affecting USBD on XP
I believe there is a problem with the USB HC emulation which can cause this on application restart. I have found the same issue with multiple WHQL'd drivers on certain hardware. Can Parallels tech support provide any insight on updates to the emulation code being developed?

I have this connected to my XP speakerphone modem. It works great.

Maybe it would work for you too?
