    Hi.

I have vista and Parallels 4 on an MBP.

The vista fails to be able to use the parallels tools to connect to the network

    i.e. IE can't connect
HOWEVER - the virtual machine can get updates quite happily - it's downloading Vistal Service Park 1 right now.

But the windows network logo says it's not connected to any networks

I have gone through each of the options in the Parallels tools configure menu on the bottom of the screen

    SHARED NETWORKING

BRIDGED NETWORKING and all the options

On the Vista, when you go into Parallels Ethernet Adapter Properties there is a little yellow triangle with an exclamation mark and you get the following message:
This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

    This then can't connect

My last parallels version worked just fine
    so I'm a bit stuck ... :-(

    Thanks for any suggestions

    tom

    Hello.

Try to reinstall Parallels Tools by going into 'Virtual Machine' from the menu bar on the top and click on clicking on 'Reinstall Parallels Tools'

    please try http://forum.parallels.com/showpost.php?p=377173&postcount=16

If this won't help, please post here the screenshot with output of "ipconfig /all" from Win (click Start -> Run, type cmd.exe and type in appeared window "ipconfig /all" without quotes),

and an output of command "scutil --dns" from Mac OS Side (to do so, start /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and type in it "scutil --dns")

Would you mind remote connection to your computer (it doesn't requires any complicated actions on your side)?

Please create a support ticket at http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop/request/ and post here its number.

Also, click at menu "Help"->"Report a Problem" and send a problem report. Specify in the ticket report-number and attach the above screenshot with output of ipconfig to the ticket

Any update on how to this this problem?

I have the same problem with windows 7, the actual release, as I'm a MSDN subscriber, but in windows, the network card is not recognized, looks like Paralles does not have the drivers for it, or something? Any help with this would be helpful.
