After Migration of WinXP installation of parallels tools fail Hi all, after migrating an windows XP, SP3 System from a physical machine over network with parallels transporter, I startet the virtual machine on my mac and the system crashed. I got a message in the parallels taskline at the bottom of the window, that I have to install the parallels tools after logging on the system. But, how to log on, when the system won´t start. So I tried to start the system in secure modus. That worked - ok. But after log on I started the installation of parallels tools from the CD and the prozess failed, because "the system-adminstrator has decreeded guidlines to avoide the installation"?!? Strange thing, because my windows account is a system-administrator user-account. The irritating point is, at the log on screen I can find an new user: Administrator. This user did not exist at the physical machine before. When I try to log on as "Administrator" I receive the message: this windows version has to be activated. Thank you for help, klaus |
