Can't eject CD/DVD when Parallels is running

Discussion in 'Installation and Configuration' started by drralph, Aug 26, 2008.

  1. When Parallels is running, the eject key on my Mac Pro keyboard does not cause the optical drive door to open unless Parallels is the active window. I get the animation of the eject button on the display, but no action from the drive itself. Make Parallels the active window, and the eject key works normally. Is there a fix?

I am running Parallels 3.0 set up for My Bootcamp, and Parallels tools are properly installed. I have a 2x2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, running OSX 10.5.4. Everything else is working fine. I found a similar post from January, with many views but no responses.

By default CD connected to VM, from Devices CD/DVD click disconnect and you can use keyboard key for eject
  3. It works! Thanks for the help!
