    Hi,

I downloaded the trial of Parallels 4.0 for Mac...I loved it and decided to purchase the full version.

However, after my trial ran out I deleted or removed the Virtual Machine thing....so when I activated Parallels there was no VM.

Prior to using Parallels 4.0 Trial, I used Boot Camp and just rebooted when I wanted to go to Windows XP....

SO how do I get it to work without removing the partition and starting again?!?

    Thanks.

    Hello becmax1,

This can be resolved by creating a new Virtual Machine by selecting Bootcamp as the Hard disk option.

    1. Launch Parallel Desktop.=> click on File => Click on the " New Virtual Machine."
    2. Click on Real CD/DVD ROM => Select Custom => Under Hard disk option Select " Bootcamp " => Proceed with the process.

    This should work.

    Hi Peter,

Unfortunately that's not working for me.

When I get to the 'New Virtual Machine Assistant' and click on the Real CD/DVD ROM I only get one option which is already ticked (It says HL-D-ST DVDRW GSA-S10N) and I can't select any custom option.

Would it be worth totally removing Parallels 4, re-installing it and then trying again?
BUT, would my licence key work?

(FYI, I downloaded the trial and then just put the new key in to that...I did save the updated installation files that the new key gave me, in case I might need it)

    Thanks, Max

    2. Click on Real CD/DVD ROM and click on Continue.

    4. Select Custom and click Continue.
    5. Choose Memory to 512 MB and Click Continue
    6. Under Hard disk option Select " Boot camp Partition " and click Continue
    7. Select Shared Networking and Click Continue.
    8. If you want to enable file sharing then enable it and Click Continue.
    9. Click on Done.
