I have a MacBook Pro and have installed Windows 10 on Bootcamp to an external drive. The drive is a USB 3.1 enclosure designed to house an NVMe drive (in my case a Samsung PM951 which has approx 1GB/s speeds)

When booting natively into Bootcamp on this drive and running Crystaldisk I am getting 900MB/s read and write speeds.

Under MacOS I have a Parallels VM setup with this drive set as the hard drive on the NVMe1 virtual interface. I only get around 150MB/s read write then.

Anyone know why this might be or how I can speed things up?

Try to switch to Apple hypervisor in Virtual Machine settings (CPU and memory section) and test again

That is actually worse than Parallels, now getting 128MB/s

I've noticed disk performance in parallels is terrible generally. Did you get anywhere with this?

Hello, did you try to switch to Apple hypervisor in Virtual Machine settings (CPU and memory section) and check?
