Hi, i started this just to hear some feedback and recommendation from all of the users here. I have a Macbook Pro. I currently run leopard and parallels with XP. I rarely use windows with my mac. However, I got through my school Windows Vista Business and I have been curious to install vista on my Mac. Honestly i didnt want to because Vista seems like a headache compared to XP. However, I am on the IT field and not liking vista is no excuse for me not to learn it and be able to service it. I would like to install it on boot camp in order to have full access to it, and aslo run parallels when i dont need as much resources to run it, just the vm for whatever reason. Is there a way if i decide to delete it later on, to give that partition back to the mac partition? Also what is the minimum space i need to give the Vista partition? As mentioned, i dont plan on running a lot of stuff in there. So, can i install it under BC and then also run it through VM? i saw a sticky on it, i just want to hear some inputs on the subject.
I'm doing exactly that and it works fine for me. I didn't find the sticky post here until after I'd done it all myself, but the hardest part for me was getting the activation complete, which involved about half an hour on the phone with Microsoft Support. I think I went with 30GB of space if I remember correctly, and it left somewhere between 10GB and 15GB free, which quickly disappeared after I installed some games. Once you don't want it anymore I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of using the Boot Camp tool to delete the partition and Mac OS will reclaim the space.
