    Hello,
I tried to start a game today under Parallels and I get an pixel shader error.
According the specs, the GeForce 8600M GT does support pixel shader 3, but it doesn't look like working with parallels 3.0
Is the only solution to use boot camp here or am I'm doing something wrong.

    thanks

    Hello Admilon,

Could you give me a link on the game for we could test it?

Please try enabling DirectX Shaders on Video tab and increasing the Video memory on Memory tab in Configuration Editor.

To open Configuration Editor start the Virtual Machine but do not launch the Guest OS, click Configuration.

    Best regards,
    Xenos

OK, I played a bit around. Seams like the game is working now, but Parallels is crashing :(
The reason is probably the attached G25 Logitech Wheel or the logitech driver for it.
Probably I have to go the BootCamp Road for that ... if I have some more time.
    thanks

Admilon, please send me a crash log for we could find the reason for the crashes.
You will find the logs on your Mac side:

    ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Parallels.crash.log

    Best regards,

My warcraft3 not render correctly with shader enable and my trial 3dstudio max can't start correctly too with shader enable.

Virtual RAM is 1024Mb and Video Memory is 64Mb. Is it 64Mb is max? OS: XP sp2. DirectX Sdk August installed. So, some directx example can't run. I got error message no direct3d detected (something like that). I get warning it could be slow to run the example when the shader is off but it's running but no shader support available.

Games which not required shader run fine. I try old startcraft, no problem at all. I don't know, it could be it required old directx version. With shader off, I can compile and run all Dark GDK game engine samples but not with shader is on. Some 3d object not appear even the sample is running. Seems it just something happen just like in my warcraft3, rendering problem.

    Hello,

Helmishariff, DirectX Shaders support is currently experimental. So some issues are possible. Can you run Warcraft 3 with DirectX Shaders disabled?

Admilon, thank you for the log, I have received it. You have 5580 build installed, please update to 5582. However this will not guarantee Richard Burns Rally running well as the game has not been included in the compatibility list yet. You can only experiment with DirectX Shaders and Video memory size. Please sorry.

    Best regards,
    Xenos

    Europa Universalis III

    Hello,

I tried the game Europa Universalis III and get the same error : "This game require PixelShaders 2.0 or higher to run".

I have a GeForce 8600M GT (which supports PixS 3).
My version of parallels is 5592 build.
The VM is set to 64Mb Video and 768Mb RAM.
I have tried with experimental shader support activated, but without success.

It's still in experimental. Not working correctly even to run directx + shader programming tutorial from Microsoft.

This product also does not work in Parallels, even with the changes to the VM (increase video RAM to 64MB and enable DirectX Shaders

    The DirectX shader

Seems to be grey (unusable) in linux. Working in XP.
Is there a possibility to use it with linux?

No, at least not in this version, it is very hard to emulate DirectX in Linux
