I'm currently using Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5582 and Windows XP SP2
on a Mac Pro running Mac OS X 10.4.10. There is NO Boot Camp on my Mac Pro.
I'm a little confused. I don't know if this update is needed.
There is a Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5600.0 update available
but when I did a check update from the Parallels Menu
it says that my Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5582 current version
is up to date. I haven't installed this update because i'm not
    sure if it needs updating.
Does this update requires Boot Camp?
Will this update work even if my Mac Pro DOES NOT have Boot Camp installed?

    Thanks.

I've upgraded to Parallels build 5600 on a Macbook. No bootcamp on my Macbook.

BTW, Windows Media Player 11 still freezes when trying to play either DVD movies or MPEG2 video files for me. Media Player Classic also stopped playing DVD movies and freezes on the dvd menu screen and this is even when I set the Playback Output settings to "VMR7 (renderless)" where that settings worked for me in Parallels build 5584. This windows Media Player video playing problem is discussed at:
    http://forums.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=17229
I'm able to play .WMV files and DivX video files in both WMP11 and Media Player Classic. I'm using PowerDVD 5 to play DVDs and MPEG2s in Windows XP SP3 under Parallels. I can live with the non-operational WMP video problem, but if there are any other problems that I encounter then I'm downgrading to 5584.
