Problem with Terminal in following Bull. 4709

In following bulletin 4709 to uninstall Virtual Machine, when I type in the first line in Terminal, it ask for either a password or Crtl C to quit. When I attempt to type in a password, nothing happens. It won't allow me type any characters.

Upgrade to 5604 http://download.parallels.com/v3/en/GA/Parallels-Desktop-5604-Mac-en.dmg
Make sure associations are set correctly on Parallels Desktop - Preferences - keyboard.
