I just installed Parallels today, and fully installed Diablo II and LoD today, but the game won't launch. Any help would be much appreciated.

Seriously, I spent a lot of money on this program (plus the cost of buying a Windows XP disk!!!), and now I find out that it can't run a simple game. Great.

Also, I understand that I can run the game fine on the Mac side, but I use the PlugY mod and that requires me to install the game on the PC side.

    Thanks

Have you tried enabling the beta DirectX support?

I'm going to try with the new patch ASAP. The Blizzard site seems to be running a bit slow now because of all the downloads, and I have to go to work soon, but I'll give it a shot when I get the chance.

It works! I can finally run the game with PC based mods. The game is running a bit choppy and slow right now, but I'm sure that if I mess with some of the video configurations, I can get it running normally.

I still have problems with Diablo II

I am running Parallels on my MacBook Pro, just purchased the digital versions of Diablo II and DII LOD, installed everything but I still get the error: "Error 25: A critical error has occurred while initializing Direct 3D".

    Anybody can help me?

    Thanks

In my Windows XP VM, I downloaded and installed DirectX from the Microsoft site. I did the reinstallation of the Parallel Tools according to the manual- no difference...
I did switch on Enable Custom Screen Resolutions and added 640x480 and 800x600 resolutions. The screen becomes black for some seconds, comes back with the desktop and still shows the same error 25 message. Heeeeeelp!

    My configuration:

MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB SDRAM, GeForce 86OOM GT
    Mac OS X 10.5.4
Parallels 3.0 for Mac Build 5608

Right click on Desktop -> Personalize -> Display Settings -> Advanced
Settings -> Trobleshoot tab- make sure it is set to full

My adaptor says "Parallels Video Driver" and has 16MB only- is that a problem?

All sugestions and help more than welcome...

Isn't there a version of Diablo 2 for Mac OS? In fact, isn't Blizzard the most Mac friendly game house?

I'm asking this, because, it doesn't make much sense to run a game/app under Windows in a VM that can be run under Mac OS.

I got it to work by enabling DirectX, upping the memory to 64mb and running the video test application (D2VidTst) in the Diablo II folder. Use the Direct3D option. Both resolutions work but 800x600 is a little choppy, while 640x480 isn't.

Thx for the tips, but how exactly and where do I change the video memory? I cannot find it...
