    hi all,
I thinked that this old problem was already fixed, but today I installed again Debian 4.0 with the most recent version of Parallels (in my MacBook with Leopard 10.5.2) and all was ok, but after I installed Parallels Tools, X server won't to start, there is an error in configuration and it's not possible to fix this, apparently.

There is a definitive workaround, please? :-((

    thanks

    Please, attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log here.

I would do so, but I get only a Window that say that gdm doesn't work, then I can see the errors for X server, but I've not the prompt where put the commands.
How can I do it, please?

    thanks

    Use Alt+F1,F2,F3,F4 for console mode.

It is a problem with Xorg. Try to setup screen resolution instantly, f.e. Modes 1024x768. Check this article, step 2.

    ok, many thanks, MaximS!
doing so I get the shell, and I can see that when X starts, there is a "floating point error".
In /etc/xorg.conf file I can see two "Screen" sections. Doing as "step 2" says, there is still the "floating point error".
Ah, I've the Italian language setted.

    thanks for help!

    EDIT:
I found where is the error (but not the solution):
    in:
    Section "ServerLayout"
    InputDevice "Parallels Mouse" "CorePointer"

commenting (with #) this line Debian starts, but with no Parallels Tools; decommenting it there is again the "floating point error".

    Ideas?

    thanks

Any progress or workaround to get Parallels tools working with Debian 4.0 ?

    Thanks

I can confirm that this is still broken in builds 5600 and 5608.

I was promised this would be fixed by the end of June, so there is still hope. :)
