I recently upgraded to the latest build of Parallels v 3. During the installation and startup there was an error recorded and set, but the Windows XP VM opened after a reboot.
Now when I try to open Parallels I get a screen that asks if I want to install Windows and asks for the serial number and other configuation details.

I used Parallels explorer and can see that my original VM still exists. However I can't load it.

Is there a way to recover my installation of XP or do I need to start over?

Is there anyway to save the information from the previous VM so I don't have to reload everything

    Thanks

    Jack

    Hello,

You can try creating new VM based on this VM's winxp.hdd:

    1. Backup folder with old windows VM (create a copy)
    2. Open Parallels Desktop and choose custom installation from VM installation menu.
    3. On "Select virtual hard disk option page" choose "Use an existing hard disk image" and select path to winxp.hdd from old machine.
