Hi, I have just made the transition from PC to Mac and I am using Parallels to aid in that transition. I own a Dell All-in-One A940, which I have just found out won't work with the Mac OSX. I tried to install it on the Windows XP that I have on Parallels and it worked ok (I got to print a test page). However, when I tried to print from a page from Internet Explorer (in XP), it printed half of the header and then stopped. I tried it a few times and each one it would print different "amounts" of the same header and spit the page with the rest blank. Does anybody know why and how I can fix this? Thank you, Nicles
I can suggest you to try Shared Printer as described in Parallels Desktop for Mac user guide from http://www.parallels.com/en/download/file/doc/Parallels_Desktop_for_Mac_User_Guide.pdf on page 135
Thanks a lot, I will try that. Just for clarification, do you mean that I should try to connect the printer through a network? Thanks again
Mac doesn't detect Dell printers (or so I have read on other forums). When I plug it via USB, it doesn't show up on the printer list or anything... Any other suggestions? Thanks, Nicles
It is. Today I was able to print some things, but then it started doing it again: I send a file to print, the printer software seemingly sends all the info, but the document itself only prints part. For example, I was trying to print a thread of emails and it printed 3 and a half pages (of 6) and stopped. It really seems like it's a problem with the amount of information that is flowing between windows and the printer. (By the way, the printer has none of these problems if I just connect it to my old PC). Thanks again for all the help.
Are you using shared profile?, also try to connect printer to old PC, and try to set up Network printer from VM
