Hi, I paid for and downloaded Parallels-Desktop-5582-Mac-en.dmg I've got Parallels running with a CentOS guest OS - all seems well in the world How do I install Parallels tools for Linux ? I cannot find a parallels-tools.run script anywhere.
mattyb, you do not need to have a CD to use this article. A CD in the article is not a CD with Parallels. It is an image that will be connected to your CD in Parallels. Best regards, Stacey
just so u now; after following the instructions as per below Parallels Tools for Linux Installation: Start Parallels Desktop for Mac, load the Guest OS , proceed to the "Actions" menu on the Mac menubar and choose "Install Parallels Tools" in order to connect the CD image with Parallels Tools to the Virtual Machine. In Guest OS mount the Parallels Tools disk, for example: execute mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom command in the console. Then run the installation script from the mounted drive, for example: execute sh /mnt/cdrom/parallels-tools-install.run command in the console. NOTE: these commands require root privileges Reboot the Virtual Machine. when it asks for your confirmation to install or not, you have to type 'Yes' and NOT 'yes' or 'y'. your reply is case sensitive. it drove me nuts at first but someone alerted it to me. just my 2 cents.
