email from iphoto via outlook

I've searched parallel's documentation and the forums for this but cannot find any information. I'm using a macbook OS X with parallels desktop 3.0, build 5600. I use the mac side for as much as I can and only windows when I can't get mac to do what I need. This is the case with email. I have an exchange server for my business and I cannot do without outlook. This is the only reason I have parallels. I worked with mac mail for months and was partially successful, but I cannot make it work in full to match the functionality of Outlook.

Now, I want to use iPhoto to download, edit, print, make webpages, etc. And when I want to email from iPhoto, I cannot get it to use Outlook. I have the Parallels Desktop preferences for email set to use windows, I have the mail app preference for client email reader set to outlook. I have the smartselect outlook preferences set to all possible extensions. If I click on an email address in any other software in mac os it opens Outlook...just not in iPhoto.

It seems the problem is in iPhoto. I see the preference 'email photos using' which is set to mail, but the other three options are grayed out and none of them are outlook. It appears that iPhoto cannot be set to send photos using outlook.

Can anyone confirm that so I can stop myself from spending too much time trying to figure out how to do it?!

 

There are 2 software calls, which Parallels doesn't handle:
1. Hardcoded calls from software as in case of iPhoto
2. COM+ calls from Windows
