Frequently Parallels stops and has to be started again. I am working with Mac OS 10.5.4 and Windows XP
just: Parallels has quit no other errors. The problem is that everything closes down and data get lost
Check this What is in files? Archive of /Library/Parallels/bugreports/ or ~/Library/Parallels/bugreports/ * /Library/Logs/panic.log or ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Parallels.crash.log from the Mac side;
Hello, I have the last build from parallels, I just purchased it about 3 weeks ago. I have had 7 hangs like the one described by Dukkie. I have to always force quit. I try to open the hang files on the console but it does not allow me to. I have always made click on "Send to apple" I suposse this information gets to you. I guess that the last numbers on each hang file is the report numbers. They would be: 130626, 132025, 134904, 174014, 185649, 141805 and 184459. I hope you can help me.... Thanks!
By the way my guest OS is Windows XP SP3. Virtual machine has 512 MB on RAM, 16 MB VRAM. Running on a SR Macbook 2.2 w/ 2 GB on RAM. I use it most of the time on coherence mode. I don't know if other information is relevant.....
Ok, it looks it is not hung but performing some internal operations, I guess, sometimes,there are too many programs running on Windows and/or Mac OS side, The problem is it is not hung but Mac OS performing some operation, if you wait some time, Parallels comes back
sorry I started only a few month ago with a Mac and Parallels and I don't know where I cann find what you asked for
Thank you John. Actually you're right, when It hapens I get the colored spinning dish from OS X just in parallels, The longest I have waited is about 5 minutes before forcing quit. Certanly most of the time I have a bunch of applications running in both OS. Do you think it would help increasing the memory to the mac, and the increasing it to the virtual machine? Best Regards,
it happened again and I received 19 pages with the problem to send to Apple. I made a zipfile but how can I past it in the message
Force quit is not good idea, please try to check is it happening when there are 1 2 applications running? Or you indeed need to increase Mac memory
I found out that my problem happens when I activate spaces several times in a short period of time. I have a 4th mouse button and when i click it it triggers spaces, if I click it 5 times in 2 seconds or something like that it freezes parallels (I use it in coherence mode and have PC apps in several desktops)
