I am stumped. Everytime I try to install it, XP won't start. Forgive the newness for me.

Can someone please tell me step by step how to do this?

    Just for the record:

    1) Go to the menubar: VM -> Install Parallel's Tools
    2) In WinXP, go to My Computer
    3) Double Click on "VRMPVOL_EN"

Note - In the version/dmg I downloaded (Parallels-.1.1658.30-Mac.dmg) the option in VM to Install Parallel Tools is grayed out along with quite a few other options.

    no tools in this release?

Same here. I am pretty sure the Parallels version I downloaded yesterday had the tools as iso image, but today's version does not. Also, performance is a LOT worse than yesterdays version. Choppy mouse, unresponsive system.

Tools are available only for guest Windows family (and OS/2). Menu will be grayed if guest OS type is not Windows.
