I have shared applications turned on in my windows virtual machine but it's not building a list of applications in: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Parallels\Shared Applications There are currently 3 items in this folder, QuickTime, VLC, and Adobe Flash CS3 I tried shutting off the VM, turning sharing off, starting vm, shutting down vm, turning on sharing, starting up (hoping it would reset everything). All that happened is I now have 3 apps listed instead of all of my OS X apps. Is there a manual process/option to rebuild this list? Edit: I found the populate option in the drop down and selected it - now there are NO applications in the above folder Running parallels 3.0 Build 5608 Thanks! Josh
I suppose you have antivirus which blocks Mac OS applications to be listed in there, as it is helper executables
Antivirus on windows or on os x? I have no OS X antivirus and my McAfee is disabled on the guest OS. In the past Parallels has worked fine in doing this. One thing I may mention which may help is I originally had Parallels installed, then uninstalled it and tried VMWare Fusion. Which I uninstalled and then installed Parallels again. (using Boot Camp partition)
Could you please uninstall MacAffey and check once again, I sill believe that antivirus may cause problem, You can install it back if I am somehow wrong
Unfortunately I tried this and it didn't work. I even restarted and tried to populate again Is there some debug mode I could turn on or a log file somewhere I could check which may point to the problem?
Nothing in "All Messages" or "Console messages" when I fire up Utilities -> Console Any other ideas? I want PDFs to open with Preview Would it be possible for someone to post his/her Shared Applications folder and I could just dump that? I only need the default OS X apps - nothing 3rd party
Is it possible to run Population while filemon.exe from sysinternals.com is running? Probably you will see access denied?
Ran it - here is the log:http://geesu.net/dump/Filemon.LOG I only noticed a few things that were odd: iSpeed.exe wasn't found sharing violation in windows/system32/config/system windows/system32/entapi.dll not found windows/apppatch/systest.sdb not found Not really sure what to make of any of them
** FOUND SOLUTION ** !! When I saw the "not found" in the logs I thought that perhaps a file was missing in Parallels Tools - so I reinstalled them (Actions -> Install Parallel Tools). I chose custom and made sure all were checked. Rebooted - and now I have the list Thanks!
