    Still no official 5624 build?

I heard rumors that the 5624 build will eventually be able to run Ubuntu 8.04 properly. Are there any plans to make this build official available? What is the release schedule for the localiczed German build? When can we expect any updates?

Excuse me if this is overtly obvious to state, but: the fact that Ubuntu 8.04 still isn't up to 100%, and Ubuntu 8.10 is almost out, is completely ridiculous.

I agree! And it makes me really sad to ask this question over and over: When will Parallels be able to deliver a version that works as promised?

Installed 5624 and tools. Ubuntu 8.04 with Gnome desktop is now working :). Has anyone tried Parallels tools with KDE4 or install on Kubuntu 8.04? The tools seems to install fine, but when I try to login it shown a gray desktop with a bunch of lines and I can't even move my mouse. I had to kill the VM and restart it. It seems 5624 is not working for KDE4. Any ideas?

Where is everyone getting this build 5624 from? I have 5608 and it claims to be up to date when I check for updates.

Is that official though? Why doesn't Parallels tell me there's a new version?

John, any ideas on KDE4 support? The problem can be easily reproduced just install Kubuntu 8.04 and install Parallel Tools. The reason I think this is a bug in Parallels Tools (5624) is because if uninstall Parallels Tools I can login to KDE without any problem. Of course, I won't be able to use any of the nice features that Parallels Tools offers.

    German Version?

    Hi,
I would need a german version with the updated Tools for Ubuntu 8.xx. Would it be possible to get one?

    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Tobias

Um, why are there no upgrade instructions within the 5624 dmg? Are you supposed to shut down your OS images before the install or anything? Hello?

The update was a nightmare... Unbuntu and no other images would launch AT ALL after the update to 5624. I would get nothing but spinning beachballs and would have to force quit Parallels after trying to start up anything.

I was able to uninstall the update and reinstall Parallels back to 5608 and everything is back to normal and all my images appear unaffected by the crap and now start. BUT, now there's no Parallels tools installed with Ubuntu 8.1, so I can't run it as integrally with OS X at all.

    Default upgrade operation is following:
    1. Download dmg image
    2. Stop Virtual Machines
    3. Upgrade Parallels Desktop
