Hi again I am having a problem on the windows side of my Imac that I cannot without great difficulty get my Lightscribe DVD to operate on the windows side of my system. I have 10.4 OS x I have Win XP pro Using latest update of Parallels 3 I can get it to print a Lightscribe on the mac side but not on the other and I mentioned. Is anyone able to help me with this, as I also have the mentioned I am having a printing problem with this also. See earlier post. Regards Gwen
Thanks heaps for your prompt reply and fantastic help. I shall give it a run after work today and x fingers that it works Truly appreciated Gwen
Hi again I have had time to try your suggestion and unfortunately it does not work. Is there something else I can do. I am still having problems with my printing from Photosmart C8180 also. I was able to just pick 8180 series printer and no worries. Now I have to use the Bonjour option which is not entirely desirable for print quality. Thanks once again Gwen
Sorry I meant to also say that I have done a diagnostic test with the Hp software and it states that my printer is not connected? It is connected and works on the mac side, so I do not know what this means? Any clues Thanks once again Regards Gwen
Hello, There is one more option in Parallels Desktop concerning the printers - you can share any printer which works on the Mac side with virtual machine. To do so, please, follow the instructions from Parallels Desktop for Mac User Guide (chapter 'Sharing a Mac Printer', starting from the page 135): http://www.parallels.com/download/file/doc/Parallels_Desktop_for_Mac_User_Guide.pdf
Thankyou for your reply. I have my printers shared and can print on the C8180 Photosmart on the mac side but I cannot print in windows using the same driver. I used to be able to print using HP 8100 series now I 'have' to use Bonjour, which I am not happy about. I am also wondering if this is why my Lightscribe will not work as in the Hp print diagnostic when I do a check for problems with the printer, it says it is not connected? How can this be when I can print from the mac. I have Laserjet 1320 on Parallel port 1 and Hp Photosmart C8180 on parallel 2 port and they show up in the configuration editor window as such. Description for both is as above and I have connections options for both 'Connect to Mac OS' Appreciate your time with this. Regards Gwen
Probably the best solution you can use it is to share Printers in Mac OS, and connect from Windows to Shared Mac OS printer by network http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh1770.html
