Does final release support Windows Vista Beta 2?

    I guess the title says it all. I seemed to remember that the support would be included in the next release, which I took to mean general release. Will Vista Beta 2 install and run on PD?

    No. The next version will support ACPI, which is a requirement for Vista. This version does not.

    I can't find the post, but I read somewhere that we will not see ACPI support until version 3. This is supposedly due out before Vista final ships.

    As a note on the subject, the open-source QEMU-based Q Emulator does run Vista b2 in VM. However, lacking a mature Virtualization engine, it's slow as molasses. I spent 4 hours installing it.

    But it's free, if you want to play with Vista in VM and not wait for PD3.
